Hugh Jackman and Qantas Announce Initiative To Champion a New Generation of Young Indigenous Leaders

HUGH-JACKMAN-AND-QANTAS-ANNOUNCE-INITIATIVE-TO-CHAMPION-A-NEW-GENERATION-OF-YOUNG-INDIGENOUS-LEADERS-700x467Qantas together with its Ambassador Hugh Jackman, today announced a new grants initiative with the Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) that will empower young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to be leaders in their communities.



 
The initiative will be funded by a $1.4 million donation from the Qantas Foundation and help IMF graduates, known as Frontrunners, further their education or career, pursue a business enterprise or support a community development project.

Abu Dhabi Classic concert takes off

Abu Dhabi Classics internationalThe Belgrade Philharmonic String Quartet will perform two concerts in Abu Dhabi as part of the new Abu Dhabi Classics international concert series on October 28 and 29, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA) announced on October 27.
 



 
A total of 26 concerts by classical orchestras will take place between October 28 and May 16 in Abu Dhabi.

easyJet celebrates 20 years of low airfares with research on changing consumer prices

BasiseršffnungeasyJet, the UK’s largest and Europe’s leading airline, has commissioned some research in the lead up to its 20th birthday on how much the price of popular products have changed since the airline started in 1995.
 



The airline famously launched air fares for the price of a pair of jeans back in 1995 with starting fares between Luton and Glasgow of £29.00. Two decades on and starting fares on the same route are cheaper at £27.49 – a reduction of 5.2% despite APD increasing by more than 160% in that period. The price of the Levis jeans the original ad was based on have gone up from £32 to £75 today – an increase of 134%.
