Etihad Airways to start daily A380 services on Abu Dhabi-Melbourne route

Etihad AirwaysTravellers on Abu Dhabi-Melbourne route can now experience luxury travel with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, commencing daily A380 services between Abu Dhabi and Melbourne on June 1, 2016.
 



“From June next year, guests on our Abu Dhabi-Melbourne A380 flights will discover what travellers the world over are talking about, the superior level of luxury, comfort, service, and in-flight technology that is redefining luxury air travel and transforming the flying experience,” said James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ President and Chief Executive Officer.
   
 
 

Boeing Board Approves Quarterly Dividend

The dividend is payable December 4, 2015, to shareholders of record as of November 6, 2015.
   
 
 

Boeing Satellite to Expand Mobile Communications Services in Asia

Boeing-satelliteA Boeing 702 satellite will expand multimedia communications for mobile users in China, India and other markets in Asia when it enters service in 2018. New York Broadband LLC (NYBB) is procuring the satellite, and will lease capacity to CMMB Vision to provide a comprehensive suite of media and information services to Asian customers.
 




“NYBB and CMMB Vision are breaking new ground in mobile media services,” said Charles Naumer, managing director of NYBB. “With the finalization of this contract with Boeing for a 702 satellite, we have significantly moved forward in making next-generation mobile communications widely available in Asia.”

   
 
 

Norwegian reports strong improvement in earnings and record high load factor in the third quarter

norwegian-airlinesNorwegian today reported its third quarter results for 2015 with a pre-tax result (EBT) of 1.1 billion NOK, a strong improvement from the same quarter previous year. The company’s long-haul operations and international routes have a positive impact on the results. The load factor is at a record high of 91 per cent.
 




The pre-tax result was 1.1 billion NOK, a strong improvement from 505 MNOK (£43.5million) in the same quarter last year. The load factor for the third quarter was 91 per cent, up six per cent.
   
 
 

Norwegian more than quadruples its current long-haul fleet with new order of 19 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners

Norwegian AirlinesNorwegian already operates Dreamliner aircraft from its London Gatwick base, serving the UK’s only low-cost long-haul flights to US – Dreamliners are used on services to New York, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale with fares from just £149.





A further low-cost route from Gatwick to Boston will be launched in May 2016, while next month will see the launch of low-cost Caribbean flights with the UK’s only direct route to Puerto Rico – both new routes will also be served by Dreamliner aircraft with fares from £179.
 
   
 
 

Norwegian continues to expand at Edinburgh Airport with new flight to Tenerife

download (5)Low-cost airline Norwegian will launch a brand new route from Edinburgh to Tenerife this week as it continues to expand at the airport.





From Thursday 29th October Norwegian will operate two flights per week to the Spanish island of Tenerife with fares starting from £59.90 one way. Flights will depart on Thursdays and Saturdays onboard new Boeing 737 aircraft – which provide free Wi-Fi for all passengers.

unnamed (40)SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, today launched its inaugural flight to Malé, Maldives. With this launch, SilkAir’s route network now spans 49 destinations in 13 countries.




 
The inaugural flight departed this morning at 10.40am from Changi Airport and is expected to arrive at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport at 11.40am. The return flight will take off at 1.35pm and is expected to land in Singapore at 9.25pm* (all times local).
 
   
 
 

JetBlue To Expand Service to Beautiful Barbados

jetblueJetBlue today announced its intent to expand the airline’s successful service to Barbados by adding a daily roundtrip flight between Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) and Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in Barbados. The announcement was made by JetBlue’s President & CEO Robin Hayes at the Caribbean Tourism Organization State of the Industry Conference in Curacao.




The new daily roundtrip service is set to begin in April 2016, subject to government approval, with seats going on sale in the coming weeks. JetBlue’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood focus city will become the third JetBlue city with non-stop flights to Barbados. Service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) launched in 2009 and service from Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) will begin this fall.
   
 
 

Hamburg Airport presents winter timetable

Hamburg-AirportThe new winter timetable comes into effect at Hamburg Airport on 25 October, 2015. It is valid until 26 March, 2016. Around 60 airlines fly to 120 destinations. On average, they carry 38,500 passengers per day to and from Hamburg in the winter – around 270,000 passengers every week.
