unnamed (40)SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, today launched its inaugural flight to Malé, Maldives. With this launch, SilkAir’s route network now spans 49 destinations in 13 countries.




 
The inaugural flight departed this morning at 10.40am from Changi Airport and is expected to arrive at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport at 11.40am. The return flight will take off at 1.35pm and is expected to land in Singapore at 9.25pm* (all times local).
 
   
 
 

JetBlue To Expand Service to Beautiful Barbados

jetblueJetBlue today announced its intent to expand the airline’s successful service to Barbados by adding a daily roundtrip flight between Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) and Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in Barbados. The announcement was made by JetBlue’s President & CEO Robin Hayes at the Caribbean Tourism Organization State of the Industry Conference in Curacao.




The new daily roundtrip service is set to begin in April 2016, subject to government approval, with seats going on sale in the coming weeks. JetBlue’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood focus city will become the third JetBlue city with non-stop flights to Barbados. Service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) launched in 2009 and service from Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) will begin this fall.
   
 
 

Hamburg Airport presents winter timetable

Hamburg-AirportThe new winter timetable comes into effect at Hamburg Airport on 25 October, 2015. It is valid until 26 March, 2016. Around 60 airlines fly to 120 destinations. On average, they carry 38,500 passengers per day to and from Hamburg in the winter – around 270,000 passengers every week.

Porter takes you to the slopes with seasonal Mont Tremblant service

Porter AirlinesPorter Airlines begins its annual seasonal winter service between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Mont Tremblant on December 5, through April 6, 2016. Flights are available up to 12 times weekly during the peak schedule.
 





Travellers arriving in Tremblant on Sunday or Monday can catch a lift to the top of the ski hill for free with a special offer available until November 1. Porter Airlines is on cloud 9

download (3)Porter Airlines is celebrating nine successful years of service. Since the first day of operation, Porter has flown more than 360,000 flights and 15 million passengers, as of October 22.




 
Porter began service in 2006 with two Bombardier Q400 aircraft and one route between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Ottawa. Today, the company has grown to include an all-Canadian Q400 fleet of 26 aircraft and flies to 24 destinations in Canada and the U.S.
   
 
 

Qatar Airways Los angeles pop-up event is a huge success

Lufthansa now operates A380 from Hong Kong-Frankfurt

Lufthansa CookandFly WinnersLufthansa passengers in Hong Kong can now enjoy the experience of travelling aboard the A380, the world’s largest and most modern passenger jet. From October 25, 2015, Lufthansa will be operating daily A380 flights from Hong Kong to Frankfurt.




The aircraft accommodates a total of 509 passengers and will be configured with eight seats in First Class and 78 in Business Class, both located on the upper deck, 52 in Premium Economy and 371 in Economy. This represents a 20% increase in passenger capacity between Hong Kong and Lufthansa’s German destinations.

qantas-logo-4160Qantas is set to inspire a fresh wave of Australian aviation nostalgia with a second Boeing 737-800 to be painted in a retro livery as part of celebrations marking the national carrier’s 95th Birthday.




 
Qantas’ Group Executive for Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Olivia Wirth, said the second retro livery aircraft would build on the popularity of the first historical livery unveiled last year.
 
   
 
 

HKIA Sees Continuous Growth in Air Traffic in September

HKA Wins HKIA Customer Service Excellence Awards_1Air traffic at Hong Kong International Airport continued to grow in September.





During the month, passenger volume rose by 6.3% to 5.4 million, while aircraft movements increased by 3.3% to 33,085 compared to the same month last year.
