Holidaymaker faced a fine for stealing pebbles from Cornish beach

Thursday, August 23, 2018 - The authorities of Cornish beach forced a holiday maker to drive hundreds of miles to return a bag of stones that he had taken. The man was traced to his home after taking a carrier bag full of stones from a beach at Crackington Haven near Bude.

TahitiMinistry of tourism of French Polynesia announced a new partnership this month with Tahiti Innovation Labs and Florida-based travels start-ups incubator to develop the Tahiti Smart Tourism initiative.

Situated around 2,700 miles due south of Hawaii, French Polynesia consists of the main island of Tahiti, the primary tourism islands of Moorea and Bora Bora, and more than 100 smaller islands and atolls, many of which are uninhabited. Collectively the islands are promoted by Tahiti Tourisme.

Industrial action at airports harms tourism, says peak body TTF

ttfThe peak national tourism body, the Tourism & Transport Forum Australia (TTF), has expressed its disappointment that Australia’s international airports will be subject to more industrial action on Monday, warning that ongoing strikes could harm our reputation as an appealing place to visit.

TTF CEO Margy Osmond said of industrial action planned for major airports on Monday: “Any disruptions at Australia’s international airports cause major discomfort and frustration for travellers – that hurts the tourism industry and the thousands of people who are employed in the sector.

Helsinki_cruise-touristsIn the summer of 2015 around 437,000 international cruise tourists visited Helsinki, an all-time record. International cruise tourist traffic is growing rapidly around the world and at the same time cruise travelers a profile is changing.

Last summer was once again a record vibrant cruise tourism. The cruise season from May to October in Helsinki stopped 254 international cruise ships, which included the city came to a record 437 000 international cruise tourists, 17 000 more than in 2014. The next year it is expected up to a little more ship visits.
